Coach Skogen's Philosophy

“The great thing about baseball and softball, is no matter the size, strength, or speed of a person, there is a place in the game for everyone. Players must put in the effort, learn what their style of game play is or should be, and use that to their advantage for what ever their level of play (T-Ball, Cal Ripken, Legion, Etc...). Because of that, there is no one style that is “the only way” to do things mechanically. There are certain principles that apply to every aspect of the game, but if there was only one way to do things you would see every major league player with the same stance, wind up, arm slot, etc... I am a firm believer in applying the basic mechanical principles into a style that feels comfortable for each individual. Once they have an understanding of the principles and how they apply to their style, hard work and dedication will lead them to obtaining their goals.”
